Tüür’s plaintive homage and Mahler’s First Symphony, known for its spectacular sonic effects, bookend the program

It's not often we get to hear this Baroque beauty in the concert hall, yet Handel’s Water Music continues to delight and inspire nearly 300 years after it was written. Awash in a sonic waves of pleasure, the lush Sea Symphony of Vaughan Williams honors the sea, imitates the perfect storm, admires the stars and bids us to sail forth and explore.
