Dayton Philharmonic Family Series

Dayton Power & Light Family Series

The Dayton Power & Light Family series introduces children, parents and grandparents to the wonders of classical music. October’s annual PhilharMonster concert will scare the musical pants off you. For February’s concert, Platypus Theatre – a trailblazer in creating programs for children that bring classical music to life in an intelligent, entertaining, and interactive way – presents Bach to the Future along with the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. And Cirque de la Symphonie in April provides a high-flying climax to the series.

Imagine coming face-to-face with some of history’s most fascinating composers – Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořak, Shostakovitch! In this theatrical symphony concert, the audience does just that, flying through space and time on the coattails of young Corky, as she attempts to recreate the musical formula that will bring a happy ending to a time travel experiment gone awry. Members of Canada’s Platypus Theatre present a program for children that brings classical music to life in an intelligent, entertaining, and interactive way.
